This calculator uses dynamic models as derived by Manso et al (2020) to estimate site index for several major UK tree species from top height and age.

Site Index is a measure of forest site productivity comprising top height (the average height of dominant trees) at a reference age. It provides a more statistically robust alternative to historic top height/age curves.

B6 Tariff Calculator

The B6 tariff is a UK-specific method, involving the measuring of basal area plots, and application of pre-determined volume-basal area ratios (dependent on top height) to estimate volume.
